Regular Season Round 38: Nagoya DD - Alvark T. 100-95

Everything could happen in Nagoya at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked Diamond Dolphins and 7th ranked Toyota Alvark had identical 23-15 record. This time Diamond Dolphins used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Tokyo 100-95 on Saturday night. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Diamond Dolphins looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: ASU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) contributed with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Greek DeShaun Thomas (201-91, college: Ohio St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Kevin Jones (206-89, college: WVU) added 16 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Toyota Alvark. Four Diamond Dolphins and five Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Diamond Dolphins maintains third position with 24-15 record having four points less than leader Tochigi B., which they share with Hitachi SRT. Loser Toyota Alvark dropped to the fourth place with 16 games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face again Toyota Alvark (#7) in Tokyo in the next round.
