Regular Season Round 41: Kagawa FA - Fukushima 75-60

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Kagawa FA (18-23) beat their close opponent Fukushima (19-19) in Takamatsu 75-60. Kagawa FA dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Fukushima's 24. They outrebounded Fukushima 51-32 including a 37-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) who had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Australian forward Rhys Vague (206-96) chipped in 9 points and 12 rebounds. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: CPP) produced 15 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocks and Bahamas Mark StFort (200-88, college: Warner) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kagawa FA moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Fukuoka R. Fukushima at the other side keeps the sixth position with 19 games lost. Kagawa FA's next round opponent will be higher ranked Sendai 89ers (#4) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fukushima will play against Yamagata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
