B2 League top team - Nishinomiya S. (25-15) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat eighth ranked Orange Vikings (14-24) in Matsuyama 98-94. Nishinomiya S. made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward DeQuan Jones (203-90, college: Miami, FL) nailed 28 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Matt Bonds (196-95, college: St.Michael's, agency: Duran International) accounted for 23 points and 6 rebounds. Four Nishinomiya S. players scored in double figures. American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: LBSU) came up with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) and American forward Perry Ellis (203-93, college: Kansas) added 29 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Orange Vikings in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Nishinomiya S. have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 25-15 record.
