Rather predictable result when third ranked Koshigaya A. (26-13) won against 5th ranked Rizing (18-23) in Tokyo 90-77. Koshigaya A. made 28-of-36 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game, while Rizing only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded Rizing 39-28 including 17 on the offensive glass. Koshigaya A. brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. 31 personal fouls committed by Rizing helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: App State) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Tomoya Ochiai (195-87) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Five Koshigaya A. players scored in double figures. Koshigaya A.'s next round opponent will be Orange Vikings (#8) in Matsuyama which should be theoretically an easy game. Rizing will play at home against the league's second-placed FE Nagoya and hope to win that game.
