Very significant was Fubon Braves' (#1, 11-3) victory against 4th placed Lioneers (3-12) 106-97. Fubon Braves made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Michael Singletary (198-88, college: Texas Tech) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Ukrainian power forward Igor Zaytsev (210-89, agency: BIG) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds. Singletary is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Tanzanian center Hasheem Thabeet (218-87, college: UConn) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 20 rebounds and American forward Branden Dawson (198-93, college: Michigan St.) added 21 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Fubon Braves and four Lioneers players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fubon Braves maintains first place with 11-3 record. Lioneers lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Fubon Braves will meet Dreamers (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lioneers will play against the league's second-placed Pilots in Taoyuan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
