Regular Season Round 41: FE Nagoya - Kumamoto V. 82-81

Fourth-ranked Kumamoto V. (18-21) was very close to win a game against third ranked FE Nagoya (23-16) on Sunday. FE Nagoya managed to secure only one-point victory 82-81. However their fans expected easier game. FE Nagoya looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) saved the victory by scoring 13 points and 9 rebounds. British forward Benjamin Lawson (216-95, college: WKU) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. Spanish center David Doblas (208-81) answered with 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American power forward Evan Ravenel (204-89, college: Ohio St.) added 14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals in the effort for Kumamoto V.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. FE Nagoya moved-up to second place. Kumamoto V. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 21 games lost. FE Nagoya are looking forward to face Rizing (#6) in Fukuoka in the next round. Kumamoto V. will play at home against the league's leader Nishinomiya S. and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
