There was a surprise result in Hamamatsu where ninth ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (9-28) defeated 4th placed Hitachi Sunrockers (24-13) 75-71 on Sunday. San-en NeoPhoenix made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game, while Hitachi Sunrockers only scored nine points from the stripe. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when San-en NeoPhoenix made 7 blocks. Hitachi Sunrockers were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch.
