Regular Season Round 39: Kumamoto V. - Kagawa FA 94-98

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Kagawa FA (17-22) defeated on the road 4th placed Kumamoto V. (18-19) 98-94 on Sunday. It was a great evening for American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Kanji Takahira (185-93) helped adding 22 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was guard Kaito Ishikawa (188-90) with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists and American power forward Evan Ravenel (204-89, college: Ohio St.) scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Kagawa FA and four Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. Kumamoto V.'s coach let to play ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kagawa FA maintains sixth place with 17-22 record. Loser Kumamoto V. keeps the fourth position with 19 games lost. Kagawa FA will face Fukushima (#6) at home in the next round. Kumamoto V. will play against FE Nagoya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
