Regular Season Round 37: Shiga L-Stars - Ryukyu GK 68-83

B1 League top team - Ryukyu GK (28-9) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fifth ranked Shiga L-Stars (13-24) 83-68. Ryukyu GK made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Shiga L-Stars turnovers and outrebounded them 42-26 including a 21-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Shiga L-Stars helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Dwayne Evans (201-92, college: St.Louis, agency: Wasserman) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Ryukyu GK's coach Hiroki Fujita allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Jonathan Octeus (193-91, college: Purdue) answered with 27 points and Australian center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Ryukyu GK. They maintain first place with 28-9 record. Shiga L-Stars at the other side keep the fifth position with 24 games lost.
