Regular Season Round 36: Chiba J. - Shinshu BW 70-64

Very expected game when 6th ranked Shinshu BW (13-23) lost on the road to second ranked Chiba J. (28-9) 70-64 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Chiba J. made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was a good game for Spanish forward Sebastian Saiz (205-94, college: Ole Miss) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. The former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) contributed with 13 points and 6 assists for the winners. American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and his fellow American import forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: WSU, agency: Wasserman) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Shinshu BW. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Chiba J. maintains second position with 28-9 record having just one victory less than leader Tochigi B. Newly promoted Shinshu BW dropped to the fifth place with 23 games lost. Chiba J. will face again Shinshu BW (#6) in Nagano in the next round.
