Regular Season Round 38: Sendai 89ers - Gunma 99-93

Leading Gunma (35-3) recorded its third loss on the court of fourth ranked Sendai 89ers. Visitors were defeated by Sendai 89ers 99-93. It ended at the same time the 33-game winning streak of Gunma. Sendai 89ers made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Gunma was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. Swingman LeBryan Nash (201-92, college: OK State) scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) during the contest. Power forward Justin Keenan (202-89, college: Ferris St.) responded with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-90, college: Miami, FL) scored 23 points and 5 assists. Four Sendai 89ers and five Gunma players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sendai 89ers (21-15) moved-up to third place, which they share with FE Nagoya. Gunma at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Sendai 89ers will again play against league's leader Gunma at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gunma will have a break next round.
