Regular Season Round 38: Fukushima - Ehime OV 109-95

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Fukushima's (18-18) home victory over 7th ranked Orange Vikings (14-22) 109-95 on Saturday. Fukushima made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Orange Vikings were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Bahamas Mark StFort (200-88, college: Warner) orchestrated the victory by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (was perfect 13-for-13 from the free throw line !!!). American forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: CPP) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: LBSU) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Perry Ellis (203-93, college: Kansas) added 31 points in the effort for Orange Vikings. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Fukushima moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kumamoto V. Loser Orange Vikings keep the seventh position with 22 games lost. Fukushima will face again Orange Vikings (#7) in Matsuyama in the next round.
