Regular Season Round 38: Kumamoto V. - Kagawa FA 89-109

There was a minor upset when 4th ranked Kumamoto V. (18-18) was smashed at home by sixth ranked Kagawa FA (16-22) 109-89 on Saturday. Kagawa FA looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. The other American import forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American power forward Evan Ravenel (204-89, college: Ohio St.) replied with 29 points and 7 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and guard Kaito Ishikawa (188-90) added 11 points and 13 assists in the effort for Kumamoto V.Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kagawa FA maintains sixth position with 16-22 record. Loser Kumamoto V. keeps the fourth place with 18 games lost. Kagawa FA will have a break next round. Kumamoto V. will play again at home against Kagawa FA (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
