Regular Season Round 35: Ryukyu GK - Hiroshima D. 100-70

There was no surprise in Okinawa where 10th ranked Dragonflies (5-30) were crushed by first ranked Ryukyu GK (26-9) 100-70 on Wednesday. Ryukyu GK outrebounded Dragonflies 42-18 including a 17-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Dwayne Evans (201-92, college: St.Louis, agency: Wasserman) who scored 26 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit) produced 12 points and 4 assists and the former international point guard Ryo Tawatari (180-93, college: Dominican, CA) added 11 points respectively for the guests. Five Ryukyu GK and four Dragonflies players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ryukyu GK have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 26-9 record. Dragonflies lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the tenth position with 30 games lost. Ryukyu GK will face Shiga L-Stars (#5) on the road in the next round. Dragonflies will play against Niigata A. (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
