Regular Season Round 34: Osaka E. - Hitachi SRT 73-86

The game between Top Four teams took place in Osaka. 4th ranked host Osaka E. (18-16) lost to third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (23-11) 86-73. Hitachi Sunrockers forced 19 Osaka E. turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. The former international forward Daisuke Noguchi (196-83) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American guard DJ Newbill (193-92, college: Penn St.) replied with 19 points and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and his fellow American import forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) added 10 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Osaka E.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitachi Sunrockers moved-up to second place, which they share with Sea Horses M. and Toyama G. Osaka E. at the other side keeps the fourth position with 16 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers' next round opponent will be Akita Northern Happinets (#6) on the road. Osaka E. will play against the league's second-placed Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
