Not a big story in a game in Hamamatsu where 9th ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (7-27) was rolled over by third ranked Diamond Dolphins (21-13) 101-80 on Sunday. Diamond Dolphins looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: ASU) chipped in 17 points during the contest. Diamond Dolphins' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side point guard Shuto Terazono (165-94) responded with 21 points and 8 assists and American-Jamaican power forward Kyle Hunt (208-89, college: USAO, agency: BIG) scored 19 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Diamond Dolphins have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 21-13 record having four points less than leader Tochigi B., which they share with Alvark T. and Akita NH. San-en NeoPhoenix lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 27 games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face Shinshu BW (#6) in Nagano in the next round. San-en NeoPhoenix will play on the road against Kyoto H. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
