Regular Season Round 34: Ryukyu GK - Hokkaido L. 82-54

B1 League top team - Ryukyu GK (25-9) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Hokkaido L. (9-25) in Okinawa 82-54. They outrebounded Hokkaido L. 42-26 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ryukyu GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Hokkaido L.'s players. American power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Dwayne Evans (201-92, college: St.Louis, agency: Wasserman) chipped in 19 points during the contest. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Jordan Taylor (187-89, college: Wisconsin, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 19 points and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and swingman Hayato Yamaguchi (194-98) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ryukyu GK have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 25-9 record. Hokkaido L. lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with 25 games lost. Ryukyu GK will face Dragonflies (#10) in Hiroshima in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hokkaido L. will play at home against the league's leader Tochigi B. and hope to win that game.
