Regular Season Round 36: Ehime OV - Kumamoto V. 80-93

Rather expected game in Matsuyama where 7th ranked Orange Vikings (14-21) were defeated by fourth ranked Kumamoto V. (18-17) 93-80 on Saturday. Kumamoto V. made 16-of-16 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Kaito Ishikawa (188-90) who helped to win the game recording 7 points and 17 assists and Spanish center David Doblas (208-81) who added 15 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: LBSU) with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Perry Ellis (203-93, college: Kansas) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Orange Vikings' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Kumamoto V. maintains fourth position with 18-17 record. Loser Orange Vikings keep the seventh place with 21 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
