Very important is a road loss of third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (22-11) against fourth ranked Osaka E. (18-15) on Saturday night. Visiting Hitachi Sunrockers were crushed by Osaka E. in Osaka 91-72. They made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Osaka E. looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Hitachi Sunrockers' players. American center Garrett Stutz (214-90, college: Wichita St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and the former international forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) accounted for 20 points and 6 rebounds. Four Osaka E. players scored in double figures. American center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and Ryunosuke Watanabe (185-94) added 13 points respectively for Hitachi Sunrockers in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Osaka E. maintains fourth place with 18-15 record. Loser Hitachi Sunrockers keep the third position with 11 games lost. They share it with Toyama G.. Osaka E. will again meet at home higher ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hitachi Sunrockers will have a break next round.
