We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when seventh ranked Toyota Alvark (20-13) defeated 6th ranked Shinshu BW (12-21) in Tokyo 83-73 on Saturday. Toyota Alvark made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. Toyota Alvark outrebounded Shinshu BW 37-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Greek DeShaun Thomas (201-91, college: Ohio St.) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Kevin Jones (206-89, college: WVU) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) answered with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: WSU, agency: Wasserman) added 19 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) in the effort for Shinshu BW. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyota Alvark moved-up to third place, which they share with Nagoya DD. Shinshu BW lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifth position with 21 games lost. Toyota Alvark will face again Shinshu BW (#6) in Nagano in the next round.
