Regular Season Round 33: Kawasaki BT - Sea Horses M. 93-63

Tenth defeat of league's leader Aishin Sea Horses (23-10) against sixth ranked Toshiba Thunders (22-12) 93-63 was the most important game of the last round. Toshiba Thunders outrebounded Aishin Sea Horses 33-18 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Toshiba Thunders looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Aishin Sea Horses' players. It was a good game for the former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward Jordan Heath (208-91, college: Canisius, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. American power forward Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) answered with 14 points and North Macedonian-American center Shane Whittington (211-91, college: W.Michigan) added 12 points in the effort for Aishin Sea Horses. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place. Aishin Sea Horses at the other side dropped to the second position with ten games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Tochigi B.. Aishin Sea Horses will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Toshiba Thunders will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya.
