Important game to mention about took place in Ahvaz. Eighth ranked Khouzestan (2-11) saved a 2-point victory at home edging higher ranked Qazvin (5-7) 89-87 on Sunday evening. Khouzestan shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. Qazvin was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Chris Ware (203-89, college: Indiana Tech) scored 26 points to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Ali Doraghi (210-84) chipped in 9 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Malcolm Grant (185-88, college: Miami, FL, agency: BIG) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 assists and American-German center Waverly Austin (211-91, college: Oregon) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Qazvin's coach Mohammed Eslami tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Khouzestan moved-up to seventh place.
