Regular Season Round 35: Saga B. - Ehime OV 99-82

B2 League top team - Saga B. (20-15) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they beat eighth ranked Orange Vikings (13-20) 99-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Orange Vikings. Saga B. made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Orange Vikings turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. It was a quality performance for swingman Takuya Soma (181-91) who led the winners and scored 30 points and 7 assists. The former international power forward Ryota Nakanishi (199-88) accounted for 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Saga B. players scored in double figures. American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: LBSU) came up with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 22 rebounds and American forward Perry Ellis (203-93, college: Kansas) added 21 points respectively for Orange Vikings in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Saga B. maintains first place with 20-15 record, which they share with Sendai 89ers. Loser Orange Vikings keep the eighth position with 20 games lost. Saga B. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Orange Vikings will play against Kumamoto V. (#4) and hope to secure a win.
