Regular Season Round 32: San-en NP - Ryukyu GK 72-99

There was no surprise in Hamamatsu where 9th ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (7-25) was crushed by second ranked Ryukyu GK (23-9) 99-72 on Sunday. Ryukyu GK dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to San-en NeoPhoenix's 34. They outrebounded San-en NeoPhoenix 40-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. Ryukyu GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. The other American import forward Dwayne Evans (201-92, college: St.Louis, agency: Wasserman) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. Ryukyu GK's coach Hiroki Fujita felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Shuto Terazono (165-94) produced 23 points and 7 assists and American-Jamaican power forward Kyle Hunt (208-89, college: USAO, agency: BIG) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Ryukyu GK have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Sea Horses M. San-en NeoPhoenix lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 25 games lost. Ryukyu GK will face Hokkaido L. (#10) in Saporro in the next round and are hoping to win another game. San-en NeoPhoenix will play at home against Diamond Dolphins and hope to win that game.
