Regular Season Round 32: Sea Horses M. - Akita NH 75-84

Top ranked Aishin Sea Horses (23-9) recorded its ninth loss in Kariya on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Akita Northern Happinets (21-11) 84-75. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Aishin Sea Horses. Akita Northern Happinets looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Bahamas power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St.) who scored 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Alex Davis (206-92, college: Fresno St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Coleby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Akita Northern Happinets' coach Kenzo Maeda used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) produced 19 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Kyle Collinsworth (198-91, college: BYU) added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Akita Northern Happinets and five Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. Akita Northern Happinets moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kawasaki BT and Toyama G. Aishin Sea Horses at the other side still keep top position with nine games lost. They share it with Ryukyu GK. Akita Northern Happinets is looking forward to face Toyama G. (#4) on the road in the next round. Aishin Sea Horses will play against Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa and are hoping to win this game.
