Regular Season Round 35: FE Nagoya - Gunma 83-87

An interesting game for Gunma (33-2) which played road game in Nagoya against second-ranked FE Nagoya (18-15). First ranked Gunma managed to get a 4-point victory 87-83. Gunma made 21-of-24 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. FE Nagoya was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-90, college: Miami, FL) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). His fellow American import power forward Justin Keenan (202-89, college: Ferris St.) helped adding 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) responded with 27 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Shun Matsuyama (175-96) scored 16 points and 7 assists. Four FE Nagoya players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Gunma have an impressive series of 31 victories in a row. They maintain first place with 33-2 record. FE Nagoya lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the third position with 15 games lost. Gunma will play against Bambitious N. (#7) in Nara in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. FE Nagoya will play on the road against Aomori W. (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
