Regular Season Round 32: Alvark T. - Toyama G. 90-86

There was a minor upset in Tokyo where one of their biggest challengers Toyama G. (21-11) was defeated by seventh ranked Toyota Alvark (19-13) 90-86 on Sunday. Toyota Alvark looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Toyama G. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. The former international Daiki Tanaka (191-91) chipped in 15 points and 7 assists. American center Joshua Smith (208-92, college: Georgetown) produced a double-double by scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all fourteen shots !!!) and his fellow American import center Richard Solomon (208-92, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) added 11 points and 18 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Toyota Alvark and five Toyama G. players scored in double figures. Toyota Alvark moved-up to third place, which they share with Nagoya DD. Loser Toyama G. keeps the fourth position with 11 games lost. Toyota Alvark will face Shinshu BW (#6) in Nagano in the next round. Toyama G. will play at home against Akita Northern Happinets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
