Everything could happen in Saporro at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Kyoto H. and 10th ranked Hokkaido L. had identical 9-22 record. But Hokkaido L. was not able to use a home court advantage and was smashed by the opponent from Kyoto 94-74 on Sunday night. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Justin Harper (208-89, college: Richmond) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Rayvonte Rice (193-92, college: Illinois) chipped in 21 points. Four Kyoto H. players scored in double figures. Forward Nick Mayo (206-97, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) produced 27 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Jawad Williams (204-83, college: UNC) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kyoto H. (10-22) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Shimane SM. Hokkaido L. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 23 games lost. Kyoto H. will face Yokohama BC (#8) at home in the next round. Hokkaido L. will play against the league's second-placed Ryukyu GK and will have a slim chance for a victory.
