Regular Season Round 31: Hitachi SRT - Tochigi B. 77-71

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Tochigi B. (24-7) in Tokyo on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (22-9) 77-71. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. Forward James McAdoo (206-93, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) helped adding 19 points and 9 rebounds. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hitachi Sunrockers moved-up to second place, which they share with Ryukyu GK. Tochigi B. at the other side still keeps top position with seven games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers is again looking forward to face league's leader Tochigi B. at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tochigi B. will have a break next round.
