Very important is a road loss of third ranked Rizing (17-16) against seventh ranked Orange Vikings (12-19) on Wednesday night. Visiting Rizing was defeated by Orange Vikings in a tough game in Matsuyama 111-118. Orange Vikings shot 33 for 46 from the free-throw line, while Rizing only scored thirteen points from the stripe. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Rizing was plagued by 41 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: LBSU) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points, 19 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side and American forward Perry Ellis (203-93, college: Kansas) accounted for 26 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Five Orange Vikings players scored in double figures. American forward Jordan Glynn (200-89, college: SF Austin) came up with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and the other American import power forward Gerald Beverly (202-93, college: Daemen) added 26 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Rizing in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Orange Vikings maintains seventh place with 12-19 record. Rizing lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with 16 games lost. Orange Vikings will play against league's leader Saga B. on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rizing will play against Bambitious N. and hopes to get back on the winning track.
