Very important is a road loss of third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (21-9) against sixth ranked Toshiba Thunders (19-11) on Wednesday night. Visiting Hitachi Sunrockers were defeated by Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa 86-73. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Hitachi Sunrockers. Toshiba Thunders forced 19 Hitachi Sunrockers turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Hitachi Sunrockers were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Spanish Pablo Aguilar (203-89) had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains sixth position with 19-11 record. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side dropped to the second place with nine games lost. They share the position with Ryukyu GK. Toshiba Thunders will play against Shimane Magic (#6) on the road in the next round. Hitachi Sunrockers will play against the league's leader Tochigi B. (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
