No shocking result in a game when third ranked Diamond Dolphins (17-13) crushed 10th ranked Dragonflies (4-26) in Hiroshima 90-64 on Wednesday. Diamond Dolphins shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Dragonflies' players. It was a good game for American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-95) contributed with 23 points and 7 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Diamond Dolphins players scored in double figures. American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit) replied with 20 points and 5 rebounds and Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (206-90, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) added 7 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Dragonflies. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Diamond Dolphins maintains third position with 17-13 record having five points less than leader Tochigi B. Dragonflies lost seventeenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the tenth place with 26 games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face Niigata A. (#9) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Dragonflies will play against Yokohama BC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
