Very predictable result when fourth ranked Akita Northern Happinets (20-10) won against at home 10th ranked Hokkaido L. (9-21) 79-73 on Wednesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Akita Northern Happinets looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Hokkaido L. was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Bahamas power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St.) who led his team to a victory with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks. The former international swingman Takatoshi Furukawa (190-87) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. American point guard Jordan Taylor (187-89, college: Wisconsin, agency: Pensack Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Nick Mayo (206-97, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) added 14 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Hokkaido L.Four Hokkaido L. players scored in double figures. Akita Northern Happinets maintains fourth position with 20-10 record, which they share with Toyama G. Loser Hokkaido L. dropped to the ninth place with 21 games lost. Akita Northern Happinets will face league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Hokkaido L. will play at home against Kyoto H.
