The game between closely ranked teams ended with eleventh ranked Blue Whales' (16-16) home victory over 12th ranked Sharks (14-18) 136-129. Blue Whales dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Sharks' 52. Blue Whales forced 19 Sharks turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. 39 personal fouls committed by Sharks helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for U.S. Virgin Islands-American forward Marcus Georges-Hunt (196-94, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with 68 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85, agency: BIG) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Blue Whales players scored in double figures. American guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) replied with 70 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals (went 23 for 23 at the free throw line !!!) and the former international Mingxin Ju (200-93) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Sharks. Sharks' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Blue Whales maintains eleventh position with 16-16 record. Sharks at the other side dropped to the thirteenth place with 18 games lost. Blue Whales' next round opponent will be higher ranked Guangsha Lions (#7) in Hangzhou and it may be quite challenging game. Sharks will play at home against the league's second-placed Guandong Tigers (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
