Regular Season Round 29: Shimane SM - Alvark T. 55-90

There was a minor upset when their close opponent Shimane Magic (9-20) was crushed at home by seventh ranked Toyota Alvark (17-12) 90-55 on Sunday. Toyota Alvark looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Shimane Magic's players. The best player for the winners was point guard Genki Kojima (180-94) who scored 17 points and 4 assists. American forward Kevin Jones (206-89, college: WVU) chipped in 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. American forward Reid Travis (203-95, college: Kentucky, agency: Pensack Sports) produced 12 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Hiromu Kitagawa (182-91) added 8 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyota Alvark maintains seventh place with 17-12 record which they share with defeated Shimane Magic. Shimane Magic lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 20 games lost. Toyota Alvark will face league's leader Tochigi B. on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
