There was a small surprise in Saporro where tenth ranked Hokkaido L. (9-20) defeated 8th ranked Yokohama BC (10-19) 78-68 on Sunday. Hokkaido L. made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard Jordan Taylor (187-89, college: Wisconsin, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Nick Mayo (206-97, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 23 points and 9 rebounds. Four Hokkaido L. players scored in double figures. American forward Robert Carter (206-94, college: Maryland) produced 18 points and 8 rebounds and Czech Patrik Auda (204-89, college: Seton Hall, agency: Octagon Europe) added 14 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Hokkaido L.. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Niigata A. and Shimane SM. Loser Yokohama BC dropped to the sixth position with 19 games lost. Hokkaido L. will face higher ranked Akita Northern Happinets (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
