Regular Season Round 7: Fubon Braves - Lioneers 87-67

Very significant was Fubon Braves' (#1, 7-1) victory against 3rd placed Lioneers (2-6) 87-67. Fubon Braves players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Costa Rican-Belizean forward Charles Garcia (208-88, college: Seattle) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. The former international swingman Wei-Ju Chien (185-92) accounted for 19 points for the winning side. American power forward Julian Wright (203-87, college: Kansas, agency: Alti Sport) came up with 8 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and Tanzanian center Hasheem Thabeet (218-87, college: UConn) added 15 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Lioneers in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fubon Braves maintains first place with 7-1 record. Lioneers at the other side keep the third position with six games lost. Fubon Braves will play against league's second-placed Pilots in Taoyuan in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lioneers will play on the road against Dreamers in Changhua City and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
