Eighth-ranked Al-Khtot (4-7) was very close to win a game against third ranked Al-Hashd (9-2) in Baghdad. Al-Hashd managed to secure only one-point victory 80-79. However their fans expected much easier game. Al-Hashd held Al-Khtot to an opponent 0.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 0.0 percent accuracy of the winners. American power forward Gregoryshon Magee (211-90, college: USA) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 18 rebounds for the winners and the former international forward Thulfiqar Hammoodi (196-92) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Magee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Glen Burns (190-95, college: Chicago St.) responded with 22 points and 5 assists and Hamzah Abs scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Al-Hashd maintains third place with 9-2 record having just two points less than leader Al Naft. Al-Khtot lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost.
