Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked Sturgeons (5-23) lost to tenth ranked Blue Whales (14-14) in Jinjiang 104-113. Blue Whales dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Sturgeons' 34 and made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Blue Whales players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. The best player for the winners was U.S. Virgin Islands-American forward Marcus Georges-Hunt (196-94, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 39 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Blue Whales players scored in double figures. Canadian Andrew Nicholson (206-89, college: St.Bonaventure) produced 41 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and YiChao Huang (197-92) added 20 points respectively for the hosts. Sturgeons' coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Blue Whales moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Guangsha L. Sturgeons lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighteenth position with 23 games lost. Blue Whales' next round opponent will be higher ranked Jilin Tigers (#6) in Changchun and it may be quite challenging game. Sturgeons will play on the road against Royal Fighters (#11) in Beijing and hope to win that game.
