Date: January 14, 2021
Superleague top team - Gorgan (9-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Khouzestan (0-9) 79-55. Gorgan dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Khouzestan's 20 and made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Gorgan forced 19 Khouzestan turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. International Mohammad Jamshidi (199-91) notched a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 assists to lead the effort and the former international guard Navid Rezaeifar (185-96) supported him with 19 points and 4 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Even a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds by American center Chris Ware (203-89, college: Indiana Tech) did not help to save the game for Khouzestan. The former international center Ali Doraghi (210-84) added 2 points and 17 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gorgan have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 9-0 record. Newly promoted Khouzestan still closes the standings with nine games lost.
