Rather expected game when 7th ranked Qatar Club (2-9) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Al Wakrah (8-3) 79-74 on Wednesday. Al Wakrah made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Nick Stover (198-93, college: USA) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds. The other American import Julius Coles Jr (193-89, college: Canisius) chipped in 30 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Stover is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Baden Jaxen (191-90, college: UNC) who recorded 19 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and Bosnian-Serbian power forward Miroslav Todic (205-85) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Five Qatar Club players scored in double figures. Al Wakrah moved-up to third place. Qatar Club lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Al Wakrah will meet league's leader Al Gharafa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Qatar Club's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha Al Rayyan.
