Very predictable result in Sichuan where second ranked Guandong Tigers (23-4) outscored 10th ranked Blue Whales (13-14) 114-88 on Wednesday. Guandong Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Blue Whales' 46. Guandong Tigers forced 20 Blue Whales turnovers and outrebounded them 54-41 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Blue Whales were plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international JunFei Ren (203-90) fired 25 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American MarShon Brooks (197-89, college: Providence) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds. Center Yuanyu Li (206-91) produced 14 points and 5 assists and U.S. Virgin Islands-American forward Marcus Georges-Hunt (196-94, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains second place with 23-4 record having just three points less than leader Liaoning FL. Loser Blue Whales keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. Guandong Tigers will face Royal Fighters (#9) in Beijing in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
