The game in Al Khor supposed to be also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Al Sadd (7-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Al Khor (1-9). Al Sadd smashed Al Khor 100-46 on Tuesday. Al Sadd dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Al Khor's 30. Al Sadd forced 26 Al Khor turnovers and outrebounded them 45-33 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Al Khor's players. The best player for the winners was Greek swingman Kostas Vasiliadis (200-84, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who scored 26 points, 8 assists and 7 steals. Greek Fotios Lampropoulos (206-83) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Al Sadd players scored in double figures. Al Sadd's coach Vassilis Bratsiakos felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Nigerian-American power forward Alvin Mofunanya (203-87, college: FDU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and the former international guard Moustafa Lashin (187-97) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Al Sadd have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 7-3 record. Al Khor lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with nine games lost. Al Sadd's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha Al Arabi.
