Regular Season Round 4: Lioneers - Fubon Braves 98-105

Very significant was Fubon Braves' (#1, 5-0) victory against 4th ranked Lioneers (1-4) 105-98. Fubon Braves forced 20 Lioneers turnovers and outrebounded them 53-38 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. The winners were led by Costa Rican-Belizean forward Charles Garcia (208-88, college: Seattle) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds and Ukrainian power forward Igor Zaytsev (210-89) supported him with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Four Fubon Braves players scored in double figures. Even 27 points and 8 rebounds by American forward LaDontae Henton (198-92, college: Providence) did not help to save the game for Lioneers. Point guard Kuo-Hao Kao (178-98) added 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fubon Braves (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row. Lioneers lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with four games lost. Fubon Braves will play against Dreamers (#3) in Changhua City in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lioneers will play on the road against the league's second-placed Pilots in Taoyuan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
