The game in Yamagata supposed to be also worth to mention about. 4th placed Kumamoto V. (13-14) played at the court of sixth ranked Yamagata (13-16). Yamagata smashed Kumamoto V. 100-67. Yamagata made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Yamagata outrebounded Kumamoto V. 46-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Andrew Randall (198-90, college: Temple) who had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 17 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Lance Goulbourne (203-89, college: Vanderbilt) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Kaito Ishikawa (188-90) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 assists and Spanish center David Doblas (208-81) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Yamagata. They maintain sixth place with 13-16 record. Kumamoto V. at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 14 games lost. Yamagata's next round opponent will be again higher ranked Kumamoto V. (#5) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
