Regular Season Round 7: Pauian - Bank of Taiwan 76-58

The game between third ranked Bank of Taiwan (5-9) and fifth ranked Pauian (3-12) was the most important one in the last round on Thursday night. Bank of Taiwan was defeated by Pauian 76-58. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Bank of Taiwan's 30. They outrebounded Bank of Taiwan 44-31 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Pauian made 10 blocks. Center Dan Qiao (200-92) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 22 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international point guard Chia-Chun Wu (177-94) chipped in 13 points and 4 steals. Four Pauian players scored in double figures. International center Zong-Rong Hsieh (200-95) produced 14 points and 8 rebounds and guard Wei-Chen Liu (190-88) added 9 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pauian maintains fifth place with 3-12 record. Bank of Taiwan lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third position with nine games lost. They share it with Jutai Techn.. Pauian are looking forward to face higher ranked Jutai Techn. (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bank of Taiwan will play against the league's second-placed Yulon Luxgen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
