Regular Season Round 27: Sea Horses M. - Kawasaki BT 99-86

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Toshiba Thunders (17-10) lost to second ranked Aishin Sea Horses (19-8) in Kariya 86-99 on Tuesday. Aishin Sea Horses looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for American power forward Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) who led his team to a victory with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) contributed with 23 points for the winners. The former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) answered with 22 points and 8 rebounds and Spanish Pablo Aguilar (203-89) added 16 points in the effort for Toshiba Thunders. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Toshiba Thunders' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Aishin Sea Horses keep a position of league leader, which they share with Hitachi SRT and Ryukyu GK. Defending champion Toshiba Thunders keep the sixth place with ten games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will face Diamond Dolphins (#3) in Nagoya in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Toshiba Thunders will play on the road against Akita Northern Happinets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
