Regular Season Round 27: Sea Horses M. - Kawasaki BT 84-92

The game had a very big importance for sixth-ranked Toshiba Thunders as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Ryukyu GK) loss. Toshiba Thunders defeated second-best Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya 92-84. Toshiba Thunders made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a great evening for Spanish Pablo Aguilar (203-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 8 rebounds. The former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) helped adding 12 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American power forward Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) with 23 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and North Macedonian-American center Shane Whittington (211-91, college: W.Michigan) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Aishin Sea Horses at the other side still keep top place with eight games lost. They share the position with Hitachi SRT and Ryukyu GK. Aishin Sea Horses will play next round against strong Diamond Dolphins trying to get back on the winning streak. Toshiba Thunders will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Akita Northern Happinets on the road.
