Regular Season Round 9: Al Rayyan - Al Sadd 95-112

Bottom-ranked Al Rayyan (0-8) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to fifth ranked Al Sadd (5-3) 112-95 on Sunday evening. Al Sadd made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. Al Sadd looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Greek swingman Kostas Vasiliadis (200-84, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who scored 38 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 8 assists. International forward Babacar Dieng (197-97) chipped in 26 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Five Al Sadd players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American Musa Abdul-Aleem (196-88, college: Troy) who recorded 43 points (!!!) and 4 assists and the other American import Tavarion Nix (201-92, college: Midwestern St.) added 22 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Al Sadd have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Al Shamal. Al Rayyan at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost.
