Regular Season Round 26: Hitachi SRT - San-en NP 81-80

Ninth-ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (5-21) made lots of trouble for third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (18-8) in Tokyo on Saturday. Hitachi Sunrockers managed to secure only one-point victory 81-80. However their fans expected much easier game. Hitachi Sunrockers forced 19 San-en NeoPhoenix turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward James McAdoo (206-93, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The other American import center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach Tsutomu Isa used entire bench in such tough game. Serbian power forward Stevan Jelovac (208-89, agency: BeoBasket) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Shuto Terazono (165-94) added 13 points and 8 assists respectively for the guests. Hitachi Sunrockers have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 18-8 record behind leader Tochigi B. San-en NeoPhoenix lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 21 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face again San-en NeoPhoenix (#9) in Hamamatsu in the next round where they are favorite.
